Absolutely true! That includes advice from ‘those who say they are the experts’. I’ve learned the hard way to filter advices. Everyone wants to give you an advice, they all have good intentions but if you don’t have a inner compass you will get lost in the noise. My first level of filter is to check what the person has accomplished in the are he or she is sharing.
Which includes everything from diet, lifestyle, data analytics, business, FINANCE, and career advice. This doesn’t mean I only listen to those who are “successful” but those who have transformed the most, the determined and discipline ones.
Often they are not teachers but they are very willing to share their experience if you ask kindly. Also I try not to follow too much those who became famous thru their preaching but didn’t really did much before that (because for many preaching is their business not their experience).
