If you are one of those people whose motivations evaporates the moment you use one of your devices, let me tell you that you are not alone and that the problem has nothing to do with your motivation nor your ability to focus.

It was a Friday evening, I had just returned from a very long day of work and all I wanted to do when I arrived home was to sit down and write a story I had in my mind. I picked up my iPad, ready to get it flowing.

Then I saw a notification from my work email. It was important, so I answered it, which reminded me of a document I hadn’t signed, I signed it back. All done, I clicked the home page to get back to where I was. Oh, someone commented on my Instagram post. Then it was a bit of Pinterest; by the time I realized it was almost dinner time, and there was no story. I could not even remember what I wanted to write in the first place.

The frustration was real. It was not the first time it had happened, and it was not the last one if I did not do something about it. I realized that all my devices were sabotaging my will and were adding to my stress and anxiety.
